Privacy Policy

Version: May 21, 2018

On May 25, 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law will come into effect. At this moment, I am ensuring that everything is set up to comply with all requirements. If I receive new information that necessitates a revision of the privacy statement below, I will do so immediately.

You want to navigate online freely
Thank you for visiting my website lukepatrickh.com, where I help people and to grow their Instagram pages. If you express further interest, you may sign up for the various courses or other services, or participate in a webinar. In doing so, you leave online traces and/or provide personal information.

This requires conscious informing and securing
As a business, I am obligated to inform you about the handling of your personal data, including what happens to it, for what purpose, and how it is stored and secured. This is detailed in this Privacy Statement, which should be concise, transparent, understandable, and easily accessible.

Your data is handled carefully, confidentially, and respectfully
Certainly. If you sign up for a course, I use your data only for that purpose. If you register for consultation, I need your personal or business details to send an invoice. Any personal information you provide does not leave my inbox. More details on all of this are provided below.

What personal data is involved?
By visiting the website, attending a course, or taking an online consult, your personal data is processed, including first and last name, address, phone number, email address, possible business details, IP address (the address from which the website is accessed, i.e., the used internet connection), and data about your activities on the website.

Why is this information requested?
To contact you and provide the service. I use your name and contact details to maintain contact and inform you about relevant matters, such as sending emails in preparation for the workshop you signed up for. Information shared over the phone is not recorded in writing. Your data is also processed to inspire and inform you about my business activities and to analyze visitor behavior for website improvement.

What doesn't happen with your data?
Your data is not sold to others. It is also not used to create extensive visitor profiles, meaning profiles generated by computer programs or systems without human intervention.

Is your data shared with third parties?
Yes, only if necessary due to a legal obligation or a legitimate interest, such as reasonable business operations:
- Tax advisor, for insight into invoices with address details
- Website host, for storing data from contact forms
- Newsletter software, for the digital newsletter
- Google Analytics, for website visit data analysis
Processing agreements have been concluded with these 'processors.'

Emails
At the bottom of each email, you have the option to modify your data or unsubscribe.

What happens while you browse?
Technical and functional cookies are used to ensure my website works properly and guarantee user-friendliness. Additionally, general visit data, including IP addresses, is tracked via Google Analytics.

Cookies - let them work for you
A cookie is a small and simple text file stored on your computer or mobile device during your first visit to a website. You can opt-out of cookies (no longer store them), delete all previously stored information, and receive a notification when a cookie is sent through your internet browser settings. However, note that this website may not function as well if you disable all cookies. Find more information on how my cookies work here.

Google Analytics - privacy-friendly manner
It analyzes visit and click behavior on the website, with information stored by Google on servers in the United States and processed into reports on website performance. Google's privacy policy with more information can be found on the Google and Google Analytics websites.

This data collection occurs in a privacy-friendly way; I have anonymized the unique client part of the IP address, disabled 'data sharing,' and do not use a combination of other Google services with Google Analytics.

Google may provide this information to third parties if legally required or if these third parties process the information on behalf of Google. I have no control over this.

Your data is well-secured
I take the protection of your data seriously. Your data is not stored online ('in the cloud'), my computer is secured with appropriate and effective technical measures, and the website uses a reliable SSL certificate. You can recognize an SSL connection by the padlock and the word 'secure' before the URL.

How long are your data retained?
Only after deleting your account, your name and email address will be removed from my system.

Customer data (individuals who have attended workshops or online training) is retained in my administration unless the customer requests their data to be deleted. Like every entrepreneur, I am legally obliged to retain my administration, including invoices with address details, for seven years.

If something is incorrect, or you want to view or delete your data?
Contact me, and I will take care of it, within three working days at the latest. If you deem it necessary, you can object to the processing of your personal data and/or file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
